October 4, 2018: Washington, D.C. Upon revisiting the Amazon bookstore, I found the romance genre section drastically reduced to this one area.
While there was a significant decrease in titles, the romance genre titles available were still diverse in subgenres.
The fact that the romance section was greatly reduced is fascinating. Romance readers are voracious, reading often and frequently. If the novels were not selling in the physical bookstore, that could be due to romance readers utilizing online platforms for purchasing. Additionally, if romance readers would like to take their time and leisurely look at titles, book stores need to make that into consideration.
